This Privacy Policy describes how Davis Contracting, LLC doing business as Waterfront Solutions MD (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you visit waterfrontsolutionsmd.com (the “Site”) or contact us about a marine construction project.
1. Overview
We are a small Maryland marine contractor. We collect the minimum information needed to respond to estimate requests and run the business — nothing more. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not run advertising trackers on this Site.
2. Scope
This policy applies to information collected through the Site, our contact and quote request forms, email correspondence, phone calls, on-site visits, and the contracts and project records we maintain in the ordinary course of business.
3. Information We Collect
We collect only what you provide and what is operationally necessary to deliver the Site and our services:
- Contact information you submit through the quote or inquiry forms or by emailing us: name, email address, phone number, property address, and any details you choose to share about your project (waterway, structure type, timeline, budget range).
- Project records created in the course of providing services: site assessments, photographs, drawings, permit applications, contract documents, change orders, and correspondence.
- Server and request logs created automatically by our hosting provider (Cloudflare): IP address, user agent, timestamps, requested URLs, and response status. These logs are used to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the Site.
- Bot-protection signals from Cloudflare Turnstile when you submit a form. Turnstile produces a token used to verify you are human; it does not require solving a CAPTCHA and does not produce a behavioral advertising profile.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive categories of personal information (such as government identifiers, financial account numbers, health data, or precise geolocation) through the Site. If you choose to share such information with us in the course of a project (for example, providing a deed or HOA documents), we treat it confidentially.
4. How We Use It
We use the information we collect to:
- Respond to your estimate, quote, or inquiry request and follow up on a project.
- Prepare proposals, contracts, permit applications, and related project documents.
- Communicate about schedule, materials, change orders, and warranty matters.
- Operate, secure, and improve the Site.
- Comply with legal obligations, including tax, licensing, and lien filings.
- Protect our rights, property, crew, and customers from fraud, abuse, or unsafe conduct.
5. How We Share It
We do not sell or rent personal information. We share information only as follows:
- With service providers who help us operate the Site and our business (see Section 6), under confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
- With permitting authorities (MDE, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and county Critical Area offices) to the extent required to submit and process permit applications for your project.
- With professional advisors (engineers, surveyors, attorneys, accountants) as reasonably required for a specific project or business need.
- With law enforcement or in response to legal process when we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law.
- In connection with a business transfer (merger, acquisition, asset sale, or bankruptcy), subject to this Policy.
6. Service Providers
The Site is built and operated with the help of the following third parties. Each receives only the information needed to perform its function:
- Cloudflare — hosting, content delivery, image optimization, DDoS protection, and Turnstile bot screening on form submissions.
- Form processing platform — the backend that routes form submissions to us and stores them for follow-up. Submissions are stored in a Cloudflare-hosted database operated for our account.
- Email delivery — notifications about new form submissions are sent to our staff via a transactional email service.
- Google Maps / Google Business — links to our Google Business Profile and reviews. We do not embed Google Maps tiles on this Site; clicking through to Google is governed by Google’s own privacy policy.
7. Cookies and Tracking
This Site uses a minimal set of cookies and similar technologies:
- Cloudflare functional cookies set automatically to operate the network and protect against abuse.
- Turnstile cookies set only when you interact with a form, used to verify the submission is human-generated.
We do not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. We do not run a marketing pixel or third-party retargeting on this Site.
8. Analytics
We use privacy-respecting, aggregate web analytics provided by our hosting platform to understand which pages are most useful. Analytics data is reported in aggregate and does not include personal identifiers.
9. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information from loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, or alteration. These include HTTPS for all Site traffic, access controls on backend systems, and Cloudflare network-level protection. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as needed to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Policy and to comply with our legal obligations:
- Form submissions and unanswered inquiries: up to 24 months, then deleted unless they have advanced to an active project.
- Active project records: for the duration of the project plus the warranty period.
- Completed project records and accounting: retained per Maryland tax, contractor licensing, and statute-of-limitations requirements.
- Server logs: retained on a rolling basis by the hosting provider per its standard policy.
11. Your Rights
You may request to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate information.
- Delete information we no longer need to keep for legal or contractual reasons.
- Withdraw consent for marketing communications (we do not currently send marketing emails, but reserve the right to do so; you can opt out at any time).
To exercise these rights, email jay@waterfrontsolutionsmd.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding. We will respond within 30 days.
12. Do Not Track
This Site does not respond to “Do Not Track” browser signals because we do not engage in cross-site behavioral tracking in the first place.
13. Children’s Privacy
The Site and our services are directed to adults considering marine construction projects. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please contact us and we will delete it.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be posted with reasonable prominence. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
